Shrewsbury ensured a 10th successive campaign in League One after their 1-1 draw at Charlton.

The visitors have not won in six matches, drawing four times, but sharing the spoils at The Valley was enough to secure safety.

Dan Udoh put Shrewsbury ahead in the 23rd minute with his 11th goal of the season, slotting smartly across Addicks keeper Harry Isted.

Before that Town had gone close when Morgan Feeney's header hit the left post with the ball rebounding on to Tunmise Sobowale and once again coming back off the woodwork.

Charlton levelled almost instantly after the restart. Addicks captain George Dobson, who has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Hungarian club Fehervar, raced on to Connor Wickham's through ball and confidently went past Shrewsbury keeper Marko Marosi to finish into an unguarded net.

Addicks midfielder Karoy Anderson headed over from close range after meeting Thierry Small's cross from the left shortly before the hour mark while Marosi got down well to parry away substitute Daniel Kanu's strike.

Charlton extended their unbeaten run to 14 league matches, 10 of them draws.

    A win today would make Shrews safe.
    It has been a hard season for us but remaining in Division 1 if it happens will be down to Paul Hurst.

    Is the glass half full or half empty, 20 draws now Charlton, 40 points dropped we would have got promoted comfortably, or 20 points gained which has saved us from certain relegation. Not hard to see what's needs to change next season.

    Well done to Paul Hurst, he's achieved what he set out to do when he rejoined Shrewsbury he's kept us up, and even better he's achieved it with a game to spare.
    We can now look forward to next season in League One once again and we live in hope that we'll have a more successful season.

    Another point for the addicks, slow but sure progress , not exciting but I’ll take it, some result stability is a welcome relief and not getting beaten gives us that

      This is not progress in any way Charlton have just had one of their worst seasons in their history. There is no excuse not lack of funds or players many Charlton players would walk into the top teams in this league. Jones has been no more successful than any of the previous managers. There is no proper competitive mentality there. This has been the same over the times of previous mnagers.

    There seems to be a widening gap between the top half and bottom half of League one.
    Two ordinary sides but well done for both staying up.

      I believe Dan Udoh's contract is up at the end of the season, i hope Paul Hurst can get him to sign a new one, he's a player we certainly don't want leaving for free.

    Shrewsbury is 3rd from bottom in the current form table and still have a chance of conceding more goals in the league than anyone else. We have more sending offs, own goals and other such nonesense with Mr Moore still drawing a salary for doing nothing positive. Great that Town is staying up, and Shipley's goal last Tuesday, is my favourite Towh highlight this year, but there remains, loads to do
